 Addiction Freedom Therapy

How much worse will your problem get before you do something about it by asking for help?
8 weeks seems like such a short time but in that time you could be free of your addictive behaviour.

THE MERRY-GO-ROUND OF ADDICTION

Cocaine, Alcohol, Cannabis, Gambling or Sex Addictions

All Addictions cause Pain. The more Dependency progresses, the worse the inner pain. This pain takes the form of internal emotional stress. Correspondingly, as the dependency and addictive stress increase, the more you, the sufferer, feels the need to indulge the addictive behaviour. This, put simply, is what is known as 'The Cycle of Dependency' - like a Merry go-round swirling around and around but with no visible means to get off. There is a way to stop this and I would like to show you how.

THE HIDDEN FEARS OFF ADDICTION

I know that for many, being addicted can be a long, painful situation, struggling to control and hide a secret life. You are afraid that it's only a matter of time before someone notices or maybe work finds out. Each new day or week heralds another desperate struggle to get this thing under control. This is a desperate way to live.
We work to help you set you free from the need to hide by regaining control of yourself and your behaviour so there is no need to struggle or hide any more.

WHEN ADDICTION ARRIVES - EVERYONE SUFFERS

I know it isa difficult fact to face, but the family suffers. As you, the addict struggles to find control over your live and your behaviour, your family is hurting; children, wives, husbands, mums and dads - all hurting. When addiction is present, everyone hurts. By quitting now before things get much worse, you will be saving everyone more pain. Freedom for your family is a priority.

AMBIVALENT THINKING KEEPS THE ADDICTION ESCAPE DOOR SHUT

The feeling of being trapped by your own conflicting desires is confusing and frightening. One minute you are planning to quit or cut it down and later you are planning the next episode of using. Who am I and what do I really want you hear yourself crying out inside. Learning to recognise which voice is your true voice and which is the destructive addictive voice will bring back an important choice into your life.

ARE YOU ARE UNSURE WHAT SORT OF HELP YOU NEED OR THE BEST PLACE TO GO FOR  HELP THAT WILL BE EFFECTIVE

The sort of help no need will be individual to you. Finding the right sort of help can be difficult and time consuming when time is not on your side. It is difficult to know what to do for the best, especially when you are looking for results. AA based 12 step treatments is available to those who might benefit from that approach. If you feel that you will need a period of time in a clinic and that you will need much close support for a lenghthy period then rehab is for you and I can help you find the best rehab to suit your needs. But if you feel that you can manage to quit this problem with the right help on a individual therapy basis then we could help you.

I AM AFRAID OF GETTING HELP IN CASE IT DOESN'T WORK OR I WILL FEEL WORSE ONCE I QUIT

Often people are ambivalent about quitting their addictions and in turn can be afraid of accepting help. They are afraid that life will be dull without their addictive behaviour and that they might be overwhelmed with cravings and terrible feelings of wanting. By using modern and powerful techniques this need not be the case. Appropriate therapy must help you feel empowered and confident in your ability to quit successfully.

I want you to know that your situation is far from hopeless. You can achieve freedom from your addiction and you can feel happy in a natural way. Often people are afraid that life will be filled with cravings and a struggle to overcome boredon. Believe me, it realy doesnt have to be that way at all. You can enjoy a renewed sense of happiness and a feeling of contentment - especially without your addictive behaviour, but if you try to keep your addictive behaviour, you will inevitably get more unhappiness and misery.

  • In their secret quiet dark moments of aloneness and despair people suffering from dependency problems know that they feel trapped in a cycle of destructive behaviour and that they need help to break free.
  • Often it is pride and stubborn self sufficiency that stands in the way.

My guess is, if you really believed that you could do it, then you would leap at the chance of having the help needed to achieve those goals.
I want you to know that if you honestly want to achieve the above goals by quitting your addictive behaviour and are willing to put in the time effort and commitment , then you can be empower to achieve that level of freedom, happiness and contentment. There is no such thing as a hopeless case.
Imagine what it would be like to have been imprisoned in a dark lonely place for long time and that you could be freed to walk out into the sunshine to rejoin life again. That would surely be worth having.

I've known Alistair for almost 20 years.

I went into treatment (for chronic alcohol & drug addiction) in Jan '86 and lasted for three weeks until I was given a "therapeutic discharge" ! I reached my rock bottom in September of '86 and that was when I started seeing Alistair.

I don't think it's any exagerration to say that he was instrumental in saving my life, along with AA. He helped me to see why I was how I was, why I felt the way I did & why I felt and acted the way I did. He helped me to gain clarity in my life, for the first time.

I've been clean & sober since Sept '86 and my life has continued to improve in every way, despite some very difficult & painful episodes along the way.

 Freedom from Alcoholism

I have no hesitation at all in recommending Alistair as a counselor.

I have been helping people like Allen, Tony, Angus, Ron and Jen find lasting Freedom from Addiction for over 30 years. I use a combination of Motivation Coaching, Addiction Hypnotherapy, Relapse prevention and Addictive behaviour reprogramming. All of which, when combined together make a heady combination of incisive therapeutic tools. With these tools, you can regain your life.

I must be clear from the outset that I am not a policeman. I am not here to bully people who dont want to change their Addiction, nor can I make someone want to change when they just dont want it for themselves. I will not work with clients who are attending reluctantly - that are coerced to Addiction therapy somehow.

I will only choose to work with those that I am sure are committed to change their addiction problem and who are willing to take responsibility for changing their addiction behaviour. I can help you, but the responsiility is yours. If you are sure that you are in that category then I welcome you to get in touch with me to discuss how we can move forward.

Call me or email me now, while the thought is still fresh in your mind.

  Testimonials

After I had made a number of unsuccessful attempts with other therapists to control my alcoholism I was recommended to Alistair & Rebekah Rhind. Their approach was innovative and powerful and they new exactly how to approach my particular problem and sort it out. I have not had a drink now for over 10 years and my life has changed for the better in many ways. I owe it to their unfailing support and wisdom.

Alistair is not just a great therapist and an amazing human being but a wonderful teacher or, as I prefer to describe him, a Guru. When you meet someone like Alistair, change is inevitable. You may not know what form it will take or when it will happen but it will. The hardest thing would be to try to stop it.

I only have one regret in all my time that I’ve known Alistair; not trusting him 100% from the very beginning, but that was my story. Who knows how different yours will be?
