ABOUT US
If you have an addiction problem and need help, your most important consideration is - finding the most experienced people, you can get to help you. The last thing you need is another highly qualified novice.
" It always concerns me that clients sometimes seem willing to engage the therapist who has little experience, is a general practitioner, offers the quickest or is cheaper. Surely what is important is to get the best that you can get. After all it is your life or the life of your loved one that is at stake here. You wouldn't get a general Doctor to treat Cancer or do brain surgery, you would engage the top specialist. So, my advice to you is; whoever you get to help you, make sure that they have a speciality and specialist training in the area that you need help with and that they have a wealth of experience under their belt."
I was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1956. I trained as a Psychiatric Nurse in Scotland in the late seventies, and went on to specialise in Addiction and Alcoholism therapy under the clinical guidance of Dr Max Glatt (dec.), a leading world authority in Alcoholism and Addiction. Since then I have trained in the USA and UK in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Coaching, NLP and Reiki Healing. I have worked in most leading Private Rehab Clinics in the South of England including The Priory and have been Treatment Director in four of the top UK clinics."
Alistair trains other therapists and health professionals in the, 'how to' of working successfully in this field and has been Treatment Director in several Private Rehabilitation Clinics around the country, where he specialised in designing and implementing successful Treatment Programmes for Alcoholism, Addiction, Smoking, Gambling, Self Harm, Eating Disorders, Stress Conditions and Families.
Over the last twenty five years he has developed an approach to addiction recovery combining skills and knowledge gleaned from vast clinical and personal experience as well as wisdom and knowledge gained from extensive study of what works. This ensures that his clients have the best possible chance of achieving recovery. He is the author of a book entitled, 'Understanding Addiction' .
